Hartwell, GA

Dachshund Adoption Source: Adopt-a-Pet.com

Luke is less than a year old and still very much a puppy. Maybe a dachshund/ spaniel mixture, he weighs less than 20 lbs. He and 2 other small dogs were surrendered by their owner to Northeast Georgia Animal rescue shelter with little information. The other dogs were adopted and we rescued Luke. He came without a name or manners but is learning both in foster care. Luke already sleeps in a crate and plays well with other dogs. He is neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, up to date with vaccinations and has been treated for parasites. Luke is a fun loving dog, he loves to play and has a lot of enthusiasm. If you would like to meet Luke or want more info please call 706-436-XXXX or email XXXX@yahoo.com.

Maggie Mae is a two year young Wire Haired Dachshund/possibly Poodle Mixture. Maggie weighs nine pounds and is full of personality. Wonderful Maggie was left at the Shelter shortly after giving birth to a litter of pups. She still had milk when she was rescued. She is now back to her perfect bikini shape, spayed and fully vetted. Maggie is ready to find her forever home. She loves toys and she will carry them around all day. Hoards them and puts them into her crate. Maggie is unaware of her small size and is simply fearless when it comes to large dogs. She can only go to a home with submissive loving large dogs that are used to being around little fluffy ones like Maggie. Maggie gets along with most dogs. She prefers boys but also likes girls that are not bossy. She is a little bossy pants and will do best with less bossy girls. Kids are fine as long as they are well behaved and do not try to pick her up.Older kids or no kids would be best.

Pia is a super cute little girl. She suffers from CDLS Chronic Dachshund Licking Syndrome...she air licks and she will lick you unless you pet her. That is 1 way to get her to stop for a bit :) Pia weighs 7lbs!!! She is 4 yrs young!!! Pia came to us via a Hoarder/Backyard breeder. She had little to no social skllls when she 1st arrived and tried to eat every human she saw. We have spent a lot of time with her training her that humans are OK. She does take a bit to warm up and is a typical Dachshund that LOVES her humans. She will try to guard you from intruders and from anyone that she thinks will hurt you...she has her little grrr grrr grrr down pat. Pia needs a Dachshund Experienced mature family or person to adopt her. No children since we do not trust her to be nice if they reach for her without warning. Pia is a love bug once she knows you and would not hurt a fly, however the key is to get to know her. She gets along with most dogs and ignores cats.

Dachshund Adoption Source: Adopt-a-Pet.com

Hello there, I am Eli! I am a 23 lb Dachshund mixture. We are not sure what I am mixed with, the breeder said I was a standard Dachshund but I was useless. Why? Because I did not like the miniature Dachshunds he tried to breed me to. So he put me in a tiny cage and sold me at the Flea Market. I have been in foster care for almost two years to teach me how to be a dog. Yes, that is right. I had to be taught to walk on grass. Taught how to drink water out of a bowl and stop hiding in the corner. Now I am a confident young man that wants to move to a home of his own. I am still shy and need a home with experience. I am not the kind of dog a 1st time dog owner should adopt. I like toys and I love to lay in the back of the couch and watch TELEVISION! 1 of my new favorite things is to walk on a leash in the park. It took some time but I love going for walks now. Most dogs and I get along. I am great with both large and small dogs. I can be a little bossy with some dogs. But I am not aggressive or bite them.

Greenville, SC

Dachshund Adoption Source: Adopt-a-Pet.com

Hello I am Schnitzel 1 yr young and eleven pounds. I am being fostered in Greenville, SC and I am looking for my own home. My life has been crazy. Someone ran me over with a car and tried to run me over again when my Guardian Angel stepped in. I had to have my pelvis and back leg fixed. I now have Bionic Powers with my titanium nuts and bolts. You would never know it, I am so active and show no signs of ever having been reconstructed. I am like Superman and Bionic Man all wrapped into one amazingly attractive body. I am also famous as I was on Fox Carolina News. I am very adorable and active. Love toys and treats. And all dogs. I do like to bite large dogs in their heels so it is best to be around small dogs only since we do not want to risk my getting bitten by a large dog. I am pee pad trained and almost house broken. I also LOVE toys and I like to play outside. I am looking for a home with a yard that I can help cultivate. Need tons of toys or a pile of dirt. Both make me happy.
